Hockey Life in Canada – Reopening!

NHTC couldn’t be more thrilled about reopening our rink, with the approved blessing of Fraser Health!

The support via parents and our regular ice rental teams has been amazing, and we appreciate the patience our community has shown while we all managed differently, but in gracious Canadian fashion. So thank you.

As we move forward with our reopening, we also have new regulations and safety measures that will be implemented as follows.

New Ice Rink Regulations in Langley

Regulations, set out by the Fraser Health, allows us to currently be open for private lessons and very small groups, with various measures in place to maintain the health and safety of each player, parent, and reduced hockey teams who have secured their ice time accordingly.

Ice Rink Safety Measures in Langley

As expected, a lot of emphasis continues to be on cleaning, which has always been part of the conscientious care of our hockey arena in Langley. In addition, safety measures that pertain to social distancing are being adhered to.

This, of course, comes with the sacrifice of only being able to allow a certain number of players back onto the ice, but NHTC is embracing these initially steps in order to ensure we can skate into upcoming months with a further easing of restrictions, and a healthy community at large.

We have been overwhelmed – in the most positive sense, by the love and support from our clients wanting to get back onto the ice, while also being understanding of the measures being taken to do so in a way that doesn’t affect anyone’s health or concerns for their health.

Hockey is a team sport and a Canadian tradition that a large majority of citizens consider to be a part of their country’s lineage – and as a company that provides hockey training in Langley, along with ice rentals and private hockey lessons, we could not be more proud of how our ‘community team’ has shown up for one another.

We recognize that this may have felt like a penalty box experience for some – especially for kids anxious to play the sport they love, or simply to get out with friends. We give you the biggest “hockey gloved” high five for being such good sports through this, and showing your eagerness to get back in the game, while lining up for your spot as they become available.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have about booking within our limited spots for May. We are anticipating further restrictions to be lifted as we move into June – and we will begin booking for that month closer to the time.

So again – thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in the arena!
