Brad Bakken

Brad is the Head Coach and General Manager of the Langley Trappers PJHL team. He led the Trappers to win the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s Stonehouse Cup in the 2021-22 season.  Brad is a Langley native and grew up playing in the Langley Minor Hockey Association. He was drafted to the Seattle Thunderbirds in the seventh round of the WHL Bantam draft at only 17 years old. When Brad was fifteen he joined the brand new Major Midget league playing for the Fraser Valley Flames (now the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds). He then played a short stint with the Osoyoos Storm in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League before moving on to play in the Western Hockey League for the Seattle Thunderbirds. Brad wrapped up his junior hockey career playing 3 seasons in the BCHL with the Langley Chiefs (now Chilliwack Chiefs).

Brad attended one year at Mt. Royal University where the team won the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference championship. He transferred to Trinity Western University and played for the Spartans with earning degree in Corporate Communications. Brad then moved on to start his coaching career. He was the Assistant Coach and associate General Manager for the Langley Trappers in their 2016-2017 inaugural season. Brad spent three seasons with Bobby Henderson and the Langley Rivermen as the assistant coach in the BCHL before returning to the Langley Trappers in the 2021-22 season as Head Coach and GM.
