Learn to Skate at the Main Rink
This camp teaches the fundamentals of skating in a positive and encouraging environment. The skills learned throughout the camp will provide skaters with the basic skills and techniques to continue into Hockey, Ringette, or Skating for Recreation. For ages 3 and older, (we do accept 2 year olds as long as they can follow instructions).

Teen Learn to Skate
At the Academy Rink
This Learn to Skate class will be for teens ages 11-16. This will be a very welcoming class for all teens that want to learn how to skate or improve their skating skills. For ages 11-16.

Advanced Skating for Hockey
This advanced skating camp is for skater that are 5-8 years and confident in our Learn to Skate Level 3/4 classes (or a similar program) that would like to advance their skating skills for hockey. Skaters will learn how to stride, transition from forward to backward and a lot of crossovers, inside and outside edges on one foot, tight turns, and drill work with pucks and sticks. Skaters may have full hockey gear and sticks, but really this class is all about SKATING and executing EDGES; whereby they start to gain confidence with speed while utilizing a stick and puck. For ages 5-8.
Camps will be offered at the NHTC Main Rink located at #110 20740 Mufford Crescent AND NHTC Academy Rink located at 9770 196a Street.
Full hockey gear is highly recommended to get used to skating in gear. CSA approved helmets with a cage, skates, & gloves are required.

Adult Skate & Sweat

This Adult program will be a very welcoming class for all adults that want to learn how to skate or improve their skating skills. It will include a one hour workout class in the gym followed by one hour on the ice.
Helmets with a cage are required and wrist guards are recommend. Limited skate and helmet rentals are available for $3.00 each.

Skate Skill Development

This Skate Skill Development camp will be run by Marcie Munro. Marcie is a sought after skating coach in the Lower Mainland and is passionate about teaching proper skating techniques to increase a player’s efficiency and effectiveness through edge, power, and stride. *Skaters must be at least a Level 4 in our Learn to Skate classes or equivalent and should know how to skate backwards with speed and control.

Tot Hockey
Tot Hockey is meant as a fun, small-group intro to hockey for ages 3 to 5. Get comfortable and confident in full hockey gear and with a stick in hand! Introduction to Hockey
The Intro to Hockey camp is for players that have passed at least Level 3 in our Learn to Skate program or can skate comfortably the full length of the ice and stop. This program is for kids brand new to hockey and is designed to teach a combination of skating, puck control, and teamwork as an introduction to hockey. For ages 4 and older.

Hockey Development
Improve your puck handling, passing, shooting, and overall hockey skills! This camp is perfect for players ages 5-9 who want to succeed in minor hockey and prepare for more advanced classes. Participants should have completed our Intro to Hockey class or a similar program. **For ages 5-9, Elite camp for ages 8-11, Female camps U13 and under.
The Wednesday weekly class and the Aug 11-15 camp will also include one hour of dryland with a focus on speed, agility, strength, and balance.

This class will be geared for adults wanting to learn or improve on their hockey skills. It’s perfect for new players who are wanting to join an adult league or even just be able to play with their kids or friends. It’s also a great choice for adults wanting to get back into the game and get the rust off after some time off. The focus will be on puck control, shooting, acceleration, and overall Hockey Development.

Body Checking & Contact Camp

This Body Checking & Contact Camp will focus on playing physically and using contact to gain an advantage while also learning to stay safe.
In the course of the 5-day camp, players will learn all of the proper techniques of receiving and delivering bodychecks, using your body to gain a competitive edge, and tactics for forwards and defensemen. Players will receive a body checking certificate at the end of the week.

Shoot to Score
Shoot with Confidence! This class is designed to convert shots on net to goals. The focus will be on shooting mechanics to generate power on your shot, shooting from different angles, creating shooting lanes, reading goalie movements and habits, and more.

Defence Camp

The Defence Camp will focus on D-specific scenarios and positioning, work on back skating, battles, standing, moving and acceleration tactics as it pertains to the D-position. It will be a fast paced class geared towards players in Rep or wanting to get into Rep or a higher level of hockey.
The camps will also include one hour of hockey specific dryland training with Coach Devon, who is an ISSA certified personal trainer/strength and conditioning coach.

Devon’s has played professionally in Europe as well as in the US in the ECHL and SPHL. His playing experience translates to a wealth of knowledge that he’s excited to share in this Train with a Pro camp. This will be a fast-paced, higher intensity camp geared towards Rep and higher level players.
The camps will also include one hour of hockey specific dryland training with Coach Devon, who is an ISSA certified personal trainer/strength and conditioning coach.

Triple Threat – Ice, Synthetic, & Dryland

Each day will consist of 1 hour on-ice training, 1 hour synthetic ice shooting and stickhandling, and 1 hour hockey-specific dryland with a personal trainer. There will be 15 minutes in between each rotation to give players time to get ready for their next working session. This camp is perfect for players wanting to prepare for rep tryouts and/or HPL (higher level hockey).

Bring full hockey gear, runners, shorts, and a t-shirt for the dryland session. Please bring a snack as well.
